Hello! And welcome to the September edition of the North Adams Podcast - our inaugural edition! This month we discuss the latest news from the North Adams Transcript
and the Berkshire Eagle
, we discuss Jack's Hot Dog Stand, take a look at the article on Porches Inn
in the latest edition of Berkshire Living Magazine
...and we talk about the past and future of the city with Veronica Boseley from Gallery 51
, which is currently hosting "Darkwater"...
...an exhibit by artist Terry Adkins.
This is a learning curve, folks, so there are a few dicey edits and the quality of the audio for the interview isn't the greatest, but I hope to improve on these things as we go.
And a further update
I have recorded the first podcast, and need only to get it transferred to a flashdrive (long story) and make a few edits. Hopefully I will have it up and running by the middle of next week. The process should get easier and quicker the second and third time around... I hope.
I went to Podcamp 2006 in Boston on Saturday. Not bad. Not as learning-intensive as the Podcast seminar at RTNDA in April, but still a very good event. It was more about discussion than instruction. I bought a refurbished and reprogrammed iRiver MP3 unit with a microphone attachment at Podcamp. It will make getting interviews MUCH easier.
On my last trip to North Adams I was able to get 3 great interviews. I hope to start recording for the first 3 podcasts sometime this week and hopefully have the first one edited and posted by the end of September. Right now I'm planning on doing monthly installments.
